Meet Social Media and Website Coordinator: Kimberly Souba
Kimberly Souba, a dedicated volunteer and board member of the Christ Child Society (CCS), has been actively involved with the organization since 2017. Her journey with CCS began unexpectedly when Deacon Matt and Lisa Levy invited her to a board meeting. Initially attending “just to learn about it,” Kimberly’s passion for the pro-life mission and her expertise in social media and website design led to her immediate appointment as the Social Media and Website Coordinator. "I believe in helping those in need, and I admire the organization’s pro-life mission," Kimberly shares. "I also have a passion and skill for social media and website design, and I knew I could contribute by using these gifts to help spread the CCS message to a wider audience." As the Social Media and Website Coordinator, Kimberly maintains the CCS website and manages its Facebook and Instagram pages. Her work ensures the community stays engaged and informed about CCS events, prayers, and other essential updates. Despite her recent move to Fargo, North Dakota, Kimberly continues to support the organization remotely, finding fulfillment in spreading the CCS mission from afar. "The most rewarding part of serving on the board is being able to spread the mission and inspire others to get involved, even from a distance," she says. Kimberly’s commitment to the mission of CCS is driven by her deeply held pro-life values. Though she doesn’t have children, Kimberly believes every child deserves love and support. "As a teacher and someone with nieces, nephews, and Godchildren, I’ve always been passionate about ensuring children feel loved and supported," she explains. As a Middle School Youth Minister, one of Kimberly’s most memorable experiences with CCS occurred. The teens organized a book drive, collected over 300 books, and assembled more than 50 layette sets. "The parents later told me how much fun the teens had, especially the boys, who turned assembling the layette sets into a friendly contest," she recalls fondly. The Literacy Program, which provides books to early learners at Head Start, is another initiative close to Kimberly’s heart. As a teacher, she recognizes the importance of early reading in fostering a love for lifelong learning. Through CCS, she has also participated in reading events at Head Start, where members volunteer to read to children. Kimberly has learned many valuable lessons through her service with CCS, particularly the importance of compassion. "Providing support to children and families in need has taught me that small acts of kindness and generosity can significantly impact. It’s not just about meeting material needs—it’s about showing love, respect, and dignity," she says. Looking ahead, Kimberly is hopeful about CCS's future. "I hope that the Christ Child Society of the Quad Cities will continue to grow and attract more volunteers, allowing us to expand our efforts and make an even greater impact in our communities," she says. She also envisions the organization adapting to meet evolving community needs by embracing technology to engage more volunteers and donors. Kimberly advises those considering joining CCS: "We all have unique gifts and talents to offer. Whether young or old, with or without children, there is always a way to get involved. Prayers are just as important as volunteering in person." Outside of her volunteer work, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, learning new things, and watching television. She also has a growing family with two great-nephews, a great-niece, seven nieces, and several Godchildren. "Many people in my life inspire me to serve a pro-life organization in any way I can," she says. "Their selflessness and dedication motivate me to stay focused on being compassionate, supportive, and loving to those in need." Kimberly Souba, now living in Fargo, ND, and attending Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church continues to be a passionate advocate for the Christ Child Society’s mission, always striving to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need.
