Eighteen women recently gathered at the home of board members Deacon Joe and Mary Anne Dockery-Jackson for a baby shower and luncheon to benefit the Women's Choice Center in Bettendorf and the Bereavement Suite at Genesis East in Davenport.

President Lisa Levy and Social Media Coordinator, Kimberly Souba, met with Jess Buntmeyer and toured the Bereavement Suite at Genesis East in Davenport, IA. Jess, a registered nurse on the Labor and Delivery floor and a volunteer bereavement doula, shared with Lisa and Kimberly that the Bereavement Suite was born out of her desire and that of Dr. Lindsey Day to help women and families who are in the midst of experiencing a miscarriage or stillbirth. Members and friends of the Christ Child Society of the Quad Cities help supply items such as books, prayer shawls, toiletry items and robes for mothers, infant blankets for babies, as well as other memento items for mothers and families to remember and honor their child who has died to the Bereavement Suite as part of their outreach.
